Per NYS Liquor Authority laws, all alcohol sales and service will be through La Bola
Alcohol is not allowed to be brought in by any other entity
Shots of alcohol are prohibited and will not be provided by event staff
La Bola TIPS trained bartenders and servers reserve the right to stop serving anyone visibly intoxicated or causing problems
If alcohol is a part of the catering package, La Bola must provide a portion of food, per NYS Liquor Authority
All guests who appear to be under the age of 35 will be asked for identification
Alcoholic beverages are not allowed outside the venue marked signage.
Rental fees include floor plan design, set-up, break-down, disposable plates and cutlery, building security, cleaning, microphone and speakers. China, glassware, silverware, tables, chairs, linens, and other specialty décor can be rented for an additional fee upon
request with at least two weeks’ notice. Additional security and cleaning can also be requested for additional fees.
When working with your caterer (or event coordinator), let them know what you need. The event space has tables and chairs to accommodate 100 for dinner or 150 for a theater-style event (press conference, presentation, etc.). The costs are $12.50 per table and $3.50 per chair.
St. Joe’s Parking Garage and Mortimer St. Parking Garage are both conveniently attached right to our building. The garages provide over 500 parking spaces attached to the building. Parking validations can be purchased for your guests ($2/hour or $10/day per vehicle). There are also 170 parking spaces in and around Parcel 5. Street parking is free after 5:00pm. We can assist in booking a valet service for you if budget allows.
The facility fee will lock in the date and the specific space for your event. All spaces remain available for booking until payment is received. The rental fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. This payment can be made via credit card or check (made out to Sibley Mercantile Oz). If your event is being catered, your caterer will need your final menu and head count at least two weeks prior to your event. A 50% deposit for the food and beverage is required when placing your food and beverage order, and the final payment is required on the day of your event. These payments can also be made by credit card or check (made out to the caterer).
Per the NYS Health Department all food and beverage being served in The Mercantile on Main needs to be prepared by one of our licensed and insured kitchens and operators.
Yes, though this is determined on an event-by-event basis. All music would need to end by midnight unless written permission from WinnCompanies is received. The Mercantile on Main operators and security reserve the right to stop any music or performance that is aggressive, disrespectful, profane or incites violence.
Yes! We invite you to make your event yours. Please feel free to bring in any décor an hour before the event (this timeframe is negotiable). Please, no confetti and no tape or glue on our walls. All décor must be removed at the end of your event unless other arrangements are made ahead of time.
Live music or a DJ can add an exciting and personal touch to your event, and we welcome entertainment that aligns with our guidelines. To ensure seamless coordination, all entertainment must be approved by our landlords and security team at least 90 days prior to your event. We require that all entertainers and companies provide proof of insurance and list both “The Duke on Main” and “Sibley Mixed Use” as additionally insured.
For the convenience of your guests and to maintain compliance, all music and entertainment must conclude by 11:00 PM. This timing helps us adhere to regulations and provides a smooth transition as your event comes to a close. By planning within this framework, you can ensure your celebration is both vibrant and respectful of the venue’s policies.
The Duke on Main, The Mercantile on Main, and Sibley Building operators, along with our security team, reserve the right to halt any music or performance that is deemed aggressive, disrespectful, profane, or incites violence. These measures are designed to safeguard the enjoyment and safety of all attendees while upholding the high standards of our venue. At our venue, we encourage you to personalize your event to reflect your unique style and vision. You and your vendors will have access to the space starting at 11:00 AM on the day of your event, providing ample time for setup and preparation. If you are hosting a morning event, such as a shower or brunch, alternative arrangements can be made to ensure your specific needs are met.
To maintain the integrity of our space, we kindly ask that confetti, glitter, tape, and glue are not used on our walls or surfaces. This ensures that the venue remains pristine and ready to accommodate future events. We’re happy to assist in offering ideas for décor that align with our guidelines while creating a stunning atmosphere.
At the conclusion of your event, all decorations must be removed from the venue to streamline cleanup and preparation for the next occasion. With these simple policies, we aim to provide a flexible yet organized experience, allowing you to focus on enjoying your celebration while leaving the logistics to us!

You will primarily work with the caterer you book while planning details of your event.
Your preferred caterer will help you choose the space that will align best with your needs. While we host private and semi-private events, the Mercantile is in a 1.1 million sq ft building that is home to many commercial businesses and 280 residential apartments. These occupants have access to the building 24/7. However, we can section off specific areas to make your space secluded.
Yes, we have areas where both bridesmaids and groomsmen can get all done up for the big day.
Yes. We have a loading dock at the back of the building. Just let us know who to expect and what time and our staff will help direct them.
8% NYS sales tax will be added to all final invoices (unless a tax-exempt form is provided). A 22% service fee will be added to all food and beverage to cover the caterer’s service/bar staff.
We love to work with community organizations. Ask us about our discount program for nonprofit events and fundraisers. 501c3 or other NPO documentation required.
